to 35 months through Early Intervention (EI),
preschoolers through each school district's
Committee on Preschool Special Education (CPSE),
and school-age children through each district's
Committee on Special Education (CSE). We
are a caring, concerned group of professionals with many years of
experience in working with babies, toddlers, preschoolers, and
school-age children. The teachers and therapists make every effort to enhance your child's
development and to respond quickly and sensitively to your concerns as
parents. The goal is to provide prompt, accurate evaluations,
effective treatment for developmental difficulties, and support for the
families of young children.

The
Director
Dr. Marion K. Salomon has a Ph.D in psychology from Yale
University. During her
two-year post-doctoral fellowship at the University of Oregon Medical
School, she worked with children with extreme prematurity, multiple
handicaps and genetic and chromosomal abnormalities.
She is a licensed psychologist with more than twenty years of
experience in evaluating and treating developmentally delayed infants,
children and adults, supervising parent training and support groups, and
counseling families. Dr.
Salomon has been a consultant to public and private schools, serves on
Stony Brook University and Hofstra University advisory committees for children
with autism and special needs, contributed articles to professional
journals, and wrote the chapter on play therapy for physically handicapped
children in The Handbook of Play Therapy.
As a university faculty member, she taught undergraduate and
graduate courses in child development and abnormal psychology.
