language stimulation activities to increase sound production and

Wednesday’s 9:30-10:30
“Developmental
Transition Group” is specifically for children on the autism
spectrum. Its goal is to prepare children to participate in an early
childhood classroom setting. The children will learn to follow
routines and directions related to the classroom as well as develop
peer awareness and social interest. Play and self help skills
necessary for the typical classroom will also be addressed. Our ABA
staff teaches the group and data is collected to provide information
to the parents and home team. Parents can participate in our parent
group meeting at the same time to discuss issues related to children
included in the early childhood classroom setting. This group
meets Tuesday’s and Thursday’s from 11:00-12:30.
“Baby

language delays the opportunity to facilitate language skills

recommended that children be ambulatory in order to negotiate the
equipment. Typical peers and siblings can register through All
American Gymnastics. A physical therapy prescription is necessary
for this group. Enrollment for the group is based on the child’s

Parents choosing to
have related services at a site or just having
difficulty getting a home provider, can now come to our
Plainview office for preschool OT, PT and speech
services. Physical therapy services are based on the
child’s needs. We can provide speech services only
in our Bohemia location. We still have
special educators available to work in community
preschool settings as well as teams of ABA teachers for
children on the spectrum.
Our observation room allows parents to watch and listen
to individual therapy sessions without distracting their
child.
We also provide
in-services and professional training to
daycare/preschool settings and school districts. If
your child’s school would be interested in speaking to
us about the topics we can present, please have them
contact JoAnn Fiesel x220 at our office. |
